SOF Event on Stand By
Saturday, March 21, 2020
Update From French Olympic Week (SOF) Organisers March 21st 2020, 10:00 AM Paris local time
The Covid-19 is an unprecedented situation and we would like to extend our sincere thoughts to all those affected by this crisis. As organisers of the SOF, our actions are driven by the desire to ensure the safety of the athletes participating at sailing events such as the SOF.
The situation around the COVID-19 virus is impacting the preparations for the SOF and is changing day by day. In conjunction with World Sailing, and the other organisers, we are all trying to provide the best framework for the athletes to train, prepare and eventually be selected for the Olympics.
With this in mind, we can already confirm to you that the SOF event will not be held at its original dates (April 18 - April 25).
At this date, we are putting the SOF event on stand-by until further notice.
Subject to the final dates of World and European championships of the Olympic classes which are evolving at the moment, the SOF shall try to provide a framework for the athletes to train and prepare for the Olympics in the second half of May.
The final decision will be published at the latest by Friday, April 17th 2020.
Regarding you're registration,
- Given that the original dates have been postponed and that a new date is not confirmed, the SOF will reimburse 100% of your registration fees (sailors and coaches) as soon as administratively possible.
- Once a final decision is made on a new date, we would kindly ask you to re-register.
Until the next official communication, please pay close attention to the guidelines provided by your national governments, reduce your contacts to flatten the curve and stay safe.
